Introduction
Eellos(b.1985) attempts drawing by focusing on two contrasting themes: the loss of innocence and the pursuit of purity through his work. The drawings, which begin with the pure perspective of a child, gradually lose their innocence over time due to an obsession with finding the correct answers and a stubbornness toward form and composition. This process reflects the artist's internal conflicts as a creator. By questioning the meaning of "correctness" in art and exploring the absurdities that arise from this process, Ilros seeks to express these contradictions. Furthermore, the artist, who starts with instinctive and spontaneous expressions but gradually becomes more conscious of structure and composition, illustrates the artistic dilemma of being unable to let go of formalism even within spontaneous drawing.
Eellos, who attempts drawing based on spontaneity akin to action painting, acknowledges that he still experiences constraints related to form and composition during his creative process. This reflects the artist's paradoxical anguish: wanting to discard the commonly recognized aesthetic perspectives of art yet being unable to completely abandon them. Thus, Eellos explores the conflict between formality and spontaneity, innocence and its loss in art, and showcases the process of finding a unique mode of expression. In Eellos' works, drawing not only reveals the internal conflicts and absurdities experienced during the creative process but also contains a contemplation of the essence of art.
