아트위크를 맞아 타임빌라스에서 열리는 이번 전시 〈Time to Art〉는 시간이 머무는 공간이라는 의미와 맞닿는 ‘타임빌라스 수원’에서 열 명의 작가가 각기 다른 시선으로 포착한 예술적 순간들과 조우한다. 시간은 익숙하지만 결코 붙잡을 수 없는 대상이며, 이번 전시는 이를 예술과 교차시켜 흐르는 시간을 어떻게 감각하고 기억하는지를 보여준다.
김지훈, 변대용, 오혁진, 유송화, 일로스, 정혜선, 장정후, 조정숙, 하지원 총 9명의 작가들로 이루어진 이번 전시는 서로 다른 조형적 언어로 작품의 서사를 드러낸다. 작품은 기억의 흔적을 담아내어 과거와 현재를 이어주며, 각 작품은 고유한 서사와 감각을 드러낸다. 이를 통해 관람객은 예술이 단순히 눈앞에 존재하는 대상이 아니라 살아 있는 경험임을 느끼게 된다.
전시장에 세워진 ‘ART’ 형태의 가벽은 시간과 공간이 교차하는 무대로, 관람객이 이를 지나며 연속적이면서도 변주되는 순간을 경험하도록 기획되었다. 또한, 이번 전시 공간 속에서는 특별하게 김환기×우나스의 ‘매화와 항아리’ 협업 케이크를 만나볼 수 있다. 한국 추상미술의 거장 김환기의 예술적 울림은 감각적인 디저트 브랜드 우나스(UNAS)의 섬세한 손길 위에 내려앉아, 케이크를 단순한 디저트가 아닌, 맛과 색, 감각과 순간이 어우러진 작품으로 만들며 자연스럽게 일상 속으로 스며든다.
이번 전시는 예술이 시간을 기록하는 동시에 변화시키는 힘을 드러낸다. 전시 속에서 같은 시간을 공유하는 관람자는 단순한 시간의 흐름을 넘어 기억과 감각이 엮어 내는 경험의 결 속에서 예술이 드러내는 또 다른 ‘현재’와 마주한다.
On the occasion of Art Week, the exhibition 〈Time to Art〉 is presented at Lotte Time Villas Suwon, a space that embodies the idea of “where time lingers.” Ten artists come together, each capturing artistic moments from their own perspective. Time, though familiar, is never something that can be grasped; this exhibition explores how art intersects with the passage of time, revealing how it is sensed and remembered.
Featuring works by Kim Ji-hoon, Byun Dae-yong, Oh Hyuk-jin, Yoo Song-hwa, Eellos, Jung Hye-sun, Jang Jung-hoo, Jo Jung-sook, and Ha Ji-won, the exhibition unfolds through diverse visual languages. Each piece carries traces of memory, connecting past and present, while offering its own unique narrative and sensibility. Through these works, viewers are invited to experience art not as something static before their eyes, but as a living encounter.
At the heart of the exhibition space, a wall installation in the shape of “ART” serves as a stage where time and space intersect, guiding visitors through a journey of continuous yet ever-changing moments. In addition, the exhibition presents a special collaboration: Kim Whanki × UNAS, “Plum Blossoms and Moon Jar”. The resonance of Kim Whanki, a master of Korean abstract art, finds delicate expression through the craft of the dessert brand UNAS, transforming a cake into more than a dessert—an artwork where flavor, color, sensation, and moment blend seamlessly into everyday life.
〈Time to Art〉 reveals art’s power not only to record time but also to transform it. Within this space, visitors share time together, encountering not merely its linear flow, but another form of the “present” that emerges in the weave of memory and perception.
